Safer detergent and home made
Just this morning I have tried a home made detergent which might be safer than store bought. Recipe: one or two 500mg tablets of vitamin C one or two table spoons of bi-carbonate of soda two litres or so of hot water. This makes an ionic buffer which can help remove oil and dissolve salt and sugar. You still have to wash the dishes with a rag or sponge and then soak them in hot clean water once the detergent wash is done. The detergent loses strength the longer it ages. The ingredients are harmless when ingested in these quantities and in combination. Just don't drink the too hot water. Also do not expose yourself to too much heat. Remember to wear washing gloves and chose the correct size of glove which have a good skin tight fit. .
